Pneumatic actuator is an actuator that uses gas pressure to drive the opening and closing or regulating valves. It is also known as a pneumatic actuator or pneumatic device, but it is commonly known as a pneumatic head. Pneumatic actuators are sometimes equipped with certain auxiliary devices. Commonly used valve positioner and hand wheel mechanism. The role of the valve positioner is to improve the performance of the actuator by using the feedback principle, so that the actuator can be controlled by the controller signal, to achieve accurate positioning. The function of the handwheel mechanism is that when the control system is due to power failure, gas shutdown, no output of the controller or the actuator failure, it can be used to directly manipulate the control valve to maintain the normal production. According to its energy form, the actuator is divided into three categories: pneumatic, electric and hydraulic. They have their own characteristics and are suitable for different occasions.
Pneumatic actuator is a class of actuators. Pneumatic actuators can also be divided into single acting and double acting two types:
1.The switching action of the actuator is driven by the air source and is called DOUBLE ACTING.
2.SPRING RETURN (Single action) only the on action is air source driven, while the off action is spring reset. Single acting pneumatic actuator is generally divided into normally open type and normally closed type.
Normally open type: ventilation closed, air cut open; Normally closed type: ventilation open, gas off.
A.Double acting actuator is mainly for the gas open and closed type, that is, whether the valve is opened or closed, it needs to use the air source, which is usually shown as ventilation open, ventilation closed, the loss of air source, the valve remains in the state at that time, the air source is reconnected, the valve can continue to work.
B.The single-acting actuator has the function of spring return. Normally open and normally closed can be selected according to the needs of working conditions. In case 1: : the ventilation is open, and when the air source is lost, the actuator will automatically reset to the initial closed state. Case 2: ventilation closed, lost air source, automatic reset to the initial open state.
C.Double acting pneumatic actuator is generally used in conditions with low leakage requirements, and single acting pneumatic actuator is used in dangerous conditions. It can be used quickly to close or open the valve when the air source is lost and the sudden failure occurs. In price, single acting pneumatic actuator than double acting will be higher.
